A former international professional soccer player, current mother, soccer coach, social justice advocate and National program mentor. Dehara was raised with the understanding of the importance of family, education, sports, music, culture and activism.
Recognized for her female empowerment soccer program and social justice advocacy, she has been interviewed by CTV news and CBC.
Dehara is the founder and operator of Venus FC Canada, formerly known as She Plays Soccer Academy based in Vancouver. She is the Secretary of Anti-Racism Coalition Vancouver and sits on the Diversity in Coaching committee for ViaSport BC. As Technical Operations Manager at Surrey United Soccer Club, one of the largest youth soccer clubs in Canada, she understands why sport, recreation and culture is of paramount importance to the community.
Her background in sports, club operations and social justice will allow her to make strategic decisions to develop sport, infrastructure and recreation programs for the diverse city of Vancouver.
